According to the UNESCO objectives, geopark does not focus on geological and geomorphological conservation alone; it should also enhance socio-economic development. To promote local participation, the department has been working in partnership with local restaurateurs’ to create some geological dishes for visitors, in a way to enrich tourists’ experience, as well as enhancing local economy. Besides traditional Hakka dishes at Kat O Village, some new winter’s geo dishes are now also available at restaurants of Sai Kung Town.
